From the Principal – January 2018

   From the Principal

Hello Wolf Pack!

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a restful holiday with friends and family.  There are many important upcoming dates that you will want to note on your calendar in the new year.

Monday, January 8th is a teacher workday.  Any student who needs to complete a final exam should arrive at 8:30 am to finish that exam.  Students return to school on Tuesday, January 9th.  All students will receive a copy of his/her second semester schedule in their first period class.  Students should check the posters in the main hallway on Tuesday for their first period class.

Saturday, January 13th is the annual Martin Luther King Parade in Carrollton starting at City Hall at 10:00 am and ending at Polk Middle School.

Tuesday, January 23rd will be a parent meeting presented by the RHS Counselors regarding SAT/ACT testing from 6:00–7:00 pm in the Library Annex.  This information is especially important for all junior and sophomore students. Tuesday, February 6th will be Wolf Pack Parent Night from 5:00–7:00 pm.  This night will show case the course requirements as well as elective courses that are a part of each Academic Endorsement.  Please invite any 8th grade parents or families new to Ranchview to come learn more about the many opportunities at Ranchview.

I would also like to invite all current Wolf Pack Families to the Extended Essay Round Table (7:30-9:00 am) followed by the Principal/Community Coffee (8:30-9:30 am) on Tuesday, February 7th in the Library Annex.  Our Senior IB Full Diploma Candidates will be sharing their research for their Extended Essays in informal conversations at the Round Table.  Then, Wynter Nash, RHS Lead Counselor, will share information with parents regarding classes and scheduling for the 2017-2018 school year.

Be sure to check out the Ranchview website for more information on these events and for all of our upcoming athletic contests and fine arts events.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you for your support of our students and of Ranchview High School!

Go Wolves!
